Hi readers and welcome!
My name is Sheryll, the creator and blogger behind Sheryville. I am a 37-year old, a wife to a wonderful husband Bob and a mom to 2 lovely teenage girls, Niah and Joan.
I am a full-time nanny to a beautiful family who took me in to become part of theirs. I have been working with them for more than 5 years now. Being a nanny is quite challenging but rewarding.
I am a chef of my own kitchen. I don’t have formal education when it comes to cooking. I just learned by watching my mom and cooking shows at TV. Believe me, I cook without using measuring devices ( C, tbsp, tsp, etc. ). I am more on using my palate and my creativity in the kitchen. I don’t follow a recipe religiously. I create meals on whatever ingredients I have available.
Way back home, I am a licensed Pharmacist. I came to realize that becoming one is not my passion. I love to being in the health industry when I have my internships at the hospital during university days but when I started working at a community drugstore I realize that this is not for me so I quit. Dealing with people at work and customers is not what excites me.
I am a dream chaser. I was on my hospital internship when I told one of my seniors that if this path won’t lead me to success I will find my way to get out in this country ( I am from the Philippines ) and so I did. In 2009, after persuading my husband, I was given the opportunity to come to Canada and work as a caregiver. It took me and my family 6 long years to live apart. However, every sacrifices we had has paid off. My family finally joined me here three years ago. It was worth the wait!
My goal …
I created Sheryville in pursuit of my dream to become a work-at-home mom. I wanted to create and live a life that I love along with my family. I want to follow my heart this time.
My goal is to become a better version of me as a wife and mom. I wanted to cope with the time that I was away from them. Six years were very long and having them here for more than 3 years, I have never done much. I wanted to do more for them while they’re still living with us and create more memories that they will treasure for the rest of their lives.
As I transition to becoming a work-at-home mom, I want to learn ways on how to handle our finances wisely by becoming debt-free and achieving financial independence. I am learning ways how to make money from home and create passive income that will eventually replace my current source of income and discovering ways to make our busy lives more manageable from day-to-day basis as well.
I hope that through reading, you’ll be entertained, informed and inspired as I go along my journey of eliminating debt, getting finances in order and following the dreams I am chasing!
Cheers and have fun reading!
